The Spanish police announced this Saturday the arrest of a youtuber which had been filmed while driving a car at 233 km / h on a Madrid service route with a speed limit of 80 km / h.

The man was arrested after being denounced by “A citizen”, explains the police in a press release, in which he details that he was driving a “high-end vehicle” on a service route of the M-45 motorway, which surrounds the Spanish capital, heading towards Valencia.

This youtuber specialized in cars and whose identity has not been revealed by the police, has more than 2 million followers on his channel on the platform, where he publishes videos of the vehicle tests he performs, details their benefits and disadvantages and shows the repairs it can effect on the engine.

His channel on the platform registered 445 million views – including 1.3 million just to see this video – four days after its publication, the statement added.

The owner of the car was one of his followers who had agreed to lend him his vehicle, and the youtuber had not warned him that he intended to test his maximum speed on public roads, the police said.
