A 19-year-old woke up from a 10 month coma Y does not know what is happening around the world due to the pandemic of COVID-19, despite having had the disease twice during his hospitalization.
The British Joseph Flavill suffered a serious accident on March 1, 2020, when a car hit him. On that date, the United Kingdom had not yet entered its first quarantine due to the coronavirus health emergency, which would arrive just three weeks later.
This week Joseph started reacting again and entered a state of minimal consciousness. According to his family, he now smiles, can move his limbs, and responds to simple commands by blinking his eyes.
“He does not know anything about the pandemic because he has been sleeping for 10 months. His consciousness is beginning to improve, but we do not know how much he realizes,” explained his aunt Sally to The Guardian.
For now, the young man is isolated in his hospital room and has communicated with his family only virtually, due to the restrictions due to Covid-19. Joseph contracted the disease without knowing it, but has recovered from it twice.
In any case, his relatives affirm that the right moment has not yet been given to detail what is happening with the pandemic and they will probably give you that information once they can visit you again.
(1/3) We write this week with amazing news about Joe! He is really committed to all of his messages and has started taking some really meaningful steps in the recovery process. He’s been following orders, for example … pic.twitter.com/xEGwsf73R6
