One of the most striking curiosities that the presidential election in the United States has had is the candidacy of rapper Kanye West. Although Kim Kardashian’s husband did not participate in the so-called “Key States”, his name was present among the third contenders.

That was how, last Tuesday, the celebrity reported through his social media accounts that had voted for himself in the election, which is not yet defined.

“God is good. Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it is for someone I truly trust… I ”, exposed.

For now, the first ballots give West minimal votes in the 12 states where he has participated, after launching an independent candidacy that did not have much support.

These places are Idaho, Minnesota, Tennessee, Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Vermont, Mississippi, Louisiana, Utah, and Kentucky.

His name was not present in the state of Virginia, after a federal judge indicated that 11 of the 13 signatures submitted by West to be a candidate had been obtained “by inappropriate, fraudulent or deceptive means”.

It should be noted that West launched his candidacy last July, in a controversial event in which he presented himself carrying firearms and calling on people to “bring their lives closer to God.”

Also, according to the Federal Elections Commission, the rapper would have spent more than five million dollars to promote his name in recent months.

According to media such as FOX, the musician’s candidacy would not be a risk for Donald Trump or Joe Biden, although it is estimated that he could steal some votes in states where the competition has been more fierce.

For now, the results of the election are uncertain, since the counts in states like Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania, which would be decisive, have yet to be concluded.
