A 55-year-old man died this Sunday after an attack by a White shark on the western shores of Australia, an attack that is not uncommon in that country, which has a large number of sharks.

The subject was swimming alone on the shores of the Broome’s Cable Beach how much the shark attacked him, which damaged his thigh and hand, causing serious injuries that led to his death, despite the hard work of the rescue team, according to ABC. The popular beach was closed.

The case came just a month after another 59-year-old man died while spearfishing in the Great Barrier Reef. It is that the attack of a shark in Australia is not uncommon and in 2019 alone there were 27, although none lost their lives.

Gene Pierce, Kimberley District Police Inspector, noted that “it is a tragic accident, very unexpected, a person who goes out to have a little fun in the water“. This year there are already eight deaths, a number only comparable to 1929 (nine deceased), which later descended due to the containment nets put up in the 1930s.

Australia has at least 2,210 adult specimens of white sharks, which are considered the most dangerous that inhabit the planet.
