The mayor of San Bernardo, Leonel Cádiz, expressed his refusal to the construction in his commune of a new sports complex “Juan Pinto Durán”, the headquarters for the national soccer teams.
Through a statement, the communal chief indicated about the ANFP project and the Ministry of National Assets that “we reject the installation of an ANFP center in our commune.”
“The above has to do with the inconsiderate way of deciding on a project in our commune, without asking the people and deciding over the people who live in San Bernardo ”, adds the writing.
“My efforts are in the order of increasing green areas, improving the service infrastructure for neighbors, optimizing mobilization and improving the health and education systems of the commune,” he added, pointing out that the idea is to build a park in the Chena hills.
Along the same lines, Cádiz pointed out that “in this context, allocate a space of 17 hectares of green area to intervene with cement and concrete, and build a corporate building of the ANFP, with fields and other dependencies, it goes in the opposite direction to what San Bernardo needs ”.
At the end of September, the new president of the ANFP, Pablo Milad, began the stage of defining the new complex of the ‘Roja’.
Even the top leader of national football has already been in contact with the Minister of National Assets, Julio Isamitt, to visit the Cerro Chena land. However, the first major complication arises.
