The Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Arturo Zúñiga, indicated this Thursday that as the Ministry of Health “they have nothing to hide”, regarding the management of the coronavirus pandemic.

During the report this Thursday, the Minsal authorities were consulted about the statements before the Prosecutor’s Office of a former official who assured that they asked her to manipulate the contagion figures and a current official who said that they were asking her to adjust the figures according to the cabinet of former minister Jaime Mañalich .

“We have a very clear objective, which is to take care of the population from the worst pandemic in the last 100 years. We are not going to hesitate for a minute to distract ourselves in other matters, for that there are lawyers, ”said Zúñiga.

“We have nothing to hide and in that sense, continue focused on taking care of the citizens of this pandemic, “he added.

Zúñiga’s words come after it was published that the current head of Sanitary planning of the Ministry of Health, Johanna Acevedo, declared to the statement before the Prosecutor’s Office of a former Minsal official, that There was a manipulation of the Covid-19 infection figures during Jaime Mañalich’s administration.

Acevedo’s testimony is similar to that given by Andrea Albagli, who before the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that she was asked to manipulate the numbers of infected, to which she would have refused.

Along the same lines, the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, indicated that they have not made contact with Johanna Acevedo, an official who testified before the Prosecutor’s Office and that they will not do so either, to respect the independence of powers.

“We will respect the actions carried out by the Justice and we will deliver the information that we deem pertinent,” he explained.
