A video published Friday night on Twitter denounced that at least four ambulances from different communes were waiting to be able to admit alleged patients with Covid-19 to the San Fernando Hospital. “No comment,” says the person who records the video and asks her partner how she is, to which she responds with what can be interpreted as a sign of fatigue in the face of the situation.
However, from the San Fernando Hospital, in the city of the same name in the O’Higgins Region, they came out to refute these claims, ensuring that they are not collapsed. The hospital used its institutional Facebook account to clarify that they are not in such a situation and that what is seen in the video only reflects the large number of referrals they have received.
“WE ARE NOT COLLAPSED! The video published a few moments ago, only reflects the number of referrals that are made, and last night (Friday) there were several, WE ARE NOT COLLAPSED AS A HOSPITAL”, they explained.
In addition, the health center called for self-care and reiterated that the health personnel are tired, but that they will continue to work “with their heads held high” to help the community.
According to the report on Friday, San Fernando, a commune that is in quarantine, registered 37 new cases of Covid-19, totaling 3,309 since the first confirmed in the city, 348 of which are active. In addition, the city hospital maintains 32 patients hospitalized for the disease.
