Water Festival in La Pintana ends with complaint

A criminal complaint filed by the Municipality of La Pintana against the organizer of a massive activity in the El Castillo population of that commune, where dozens of minors accompanied by their parents participated for several hours in an activity with water games, swimming pools and music on Sunday 20.

However, the Metropolitan Region is in Phase 2, that is, on weekends it returns to quarantine.

After a coordination between Carabineros and the PDI, the Municipality, Seremi de Salud and Undersecretariat of Crime Prevention, the police forces convinced the neighbors – who reached 200 people – not to continue the activity because they were violating article 318 of Penal Code, which sanctions those who put public health at risk.

This activity did not have any municipal or health permit for its operation and adults and children, as it was found, did not wear a mask or maintain social distance, in addition to the fact that there were no sanitary measures corresponding to the use of swimming pools or water slides.

The intervention of Carabineros, Investigative Police, municipal inspectors and the Seremi de Salud, who attended the place, also managed to prevent an “artistic show” that was scheduled, in which more than 30 artists would participate, and that would bring even more people.

For all these reasons, the Municipality of La Pintana, represented by its mayor, Claudia Pizarro, sued the person responsible, who is domiciled in the same commune. Fabián González Araya, the organizer, even uploaded a video to his Facebook page called “Transparencia La Pintana”, in which the activity was shown and called on the neighbors to come to the place, ignoring the regulations and recommendations of health authorities.
