President of the UDI, Jacqueline Van Rysselberghe, supported the statements made by Pablo Longueira against the counselor of the State Defense Council (CDE) María Inés Horvitz, whom in an interview with Cooperative disqualified calling her “communist“.
Horvitz is part of the plenary session of 11 CDE attorneys that sued Longueira for Bribery, after SQM, allegedly, send the former senator an article of the mining royalty law, article that Longueira sent the former Minister of the Segpres Cristián Larroulet as his, allowing the text to become law.
In a letter to the editor The Mercury, the union helmsman states that “probably, this controversy would not have existed if authorities such as Councilor Horvitz refrain from issuing offensive political opinions against the political sector to which Pablo Longueira belongs“.
“As an example,” he pointed out, “on October 21, after the outbreak of violence (…) Mrs. Horvitz tweeted: ‘The right-wing tactic will be to promote shortages so that despair can spread and more force. But it only happens in middle or poor neighborhoods, because up in the mountains there is no problem…It’s clear who Piñera’s war is against“.
Along these lines, Van Rysselberghe points out that “common sense indicates that a person who makes such statements does not give guarantees of balance, objectivity and equanimity for all citizens, especially for those who are part of the center-right. “
It should be noted that the State Defense Council during the week repudiated these statements by Longueira, bringing out the resume and attorney experience.
