The Oral Criminal Court of Punta Arenas condemned four years and 324 days in prison for university student Marcelo Mandujano Salas, as author of the fire that destroyed a branch of AFP Habitat in the city, already 41 days of imprisonment for public disorder.

The sentence handed down by the court “replaces the execution of custodial sentences with intensive probation for a term of five years, having to comply with the individual intervention plan to be prepared by the delegate of the Chilean Gendarmerie designated for that purpose “.

The magistrates also accepted a Civil lawsuit of Sociedad Las Violetas SA -owner of the damaged property-, for compensation of damages for 660 UF (some 19 million pesos) for the leases not received due to the attack.
The prosecutor Felipe Aguirre he declared himself in agreement with the ruling, as it proved the crimes charged and the responsibility of the accused, rejecting the alleged “illegalities” alleged by the defense of the young man.
