One of the many controversies that have been triggered after the death of Diego Armando Maradona were the photographs that were viralized by social networks in which the funeral home workers are shown next to the coffin of the Argentine soccer legend.
The lawyer for “10” was the one who announced the dissemination of the first image, stating that he would make the person responsible for “such an aberration” pay. Minutes later, the second one began to circulate in which Claudio Fernandez next to his son and Maradona’s corpse.
Immediately the digital platforms exploded with outrage and hundreds of messages were directed at the men. Faced with this situation, Fernández spoke with a local media and apologized for what happened, claiming that he never thought that the photo would go viral.
“I apologize”
“I know that many people have been offended and have taken it badly,” said the worker to Radio 10 Argentina, after noting that the photograph was not captured by his cell phone and that it was taken suddenly.
Fernández, who appears with his son in the image, said that “I never thought they were going to upload it or that they were going to send it to a group.”
Given this situation, which offended Maradona’s family and his followers, the worker was fired from the company immediately after the news was released.
“They threw me out of the company, for something I did not do. If you see the photo, I just settled my head,” said Claudio Fernández and remarked that “I apologize. At that moment it was the nerves, which was with Maradona. I wanted it to look good. The company is not to blame for all this. “
During the interview, the man insisted that Diego “is everyone’s idol, it was not intentional“and assured that he has received death threats for what happened.
