At least two carabinieri were injured after being run over by a driver who was followed after being surprised driving a stolen vehicle.
As reported by General Jean Camus, head of the Santiago East Carabineros Zone, it all began in Maipú when a stolen car was detected, which led to the initiation of a follow-up through several communes from the capital, such as Cerrillos, La Cisterna, San Ramón and San Miguel.
The chase ended in Route 5 at the height of San Miguel, where the driver of the mobile ran over two motorists from the uniformed institution, which led to the presence of an institutional helicopter that landed on the highway to rescue the injured.
The driver, meanwhile, he was arrested for reception and the vehicle was recovered.
Transit on Route 5 to the north is completely interrupted at the height of Salesianos.
