Two Indonesian citizens were detained by the Carabineros early this Sunday in Punta Arenas, accused of raping an official of the health residence where they were being held after testing positive for covid-19.
It was around 3:00 in the morning this Sunday that a complaint for sexual assault was entered at the Carabineros Communications Central (Cenco), with police officers being referred to a health residence located on Armando Sanhueza street, between Waldo Seguel and José Menéndez, in the downtown area of Punta Arenas.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was indicated that a nursing technician who attended to the people ordered to be confined in the place, was allegedly raped and abused by two Indonesian citizens, both accused being immediately detained by officials of the First Police Station. , although with seclusion in the same place.
The victim was transferred to the Magallanes Clinical Hospital for due care, all of this information being reported to the local Prosecutor’s Office, who instructed the Punta Arenas Sex Crimes Brigade to carry out the corresponding investigation.
Foreign citizens will be formalized for rape and sexual abuse. It should be noted that the two belong to the crew of a factory ship, from which they were transferred for having tested positive for covid-19.
