Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN) reported its results corresponding to the close of the financial year 2020, in which it registered, for the first time in seven years and after a long crisis, obtaining profits.

The state channel, through a statement, said that audience growth reached 13.7% compared to the previous year, which managed to regain third place in tune since September, which had not happened since 2013.

In 2020, TVN increased its market share by 9.4%, reaching revenues of $ 41,267 million, which implies a 0.2% growth, compared to a 13% drop observed in the advertising industry as a result of the pandemic crisis.

As part of the strategic plan, TVN executed a reorganization of its operating model, which achieved a reduction of its costs and administrative expenses of 27.4%, from $ 56,049 million in 2019 to $ 40,682 million in 2020.

From the public signal they affirmed that “they will continue to strengthen their programmatic offer to deliver quality content that promotes culture, truthful information and a plural perspective in all their programming.”
