Enhancements on route d-41
While the common factor of these accidents were speeding or alcohol intake by the drivers involved. The municipality of Vicuña has requested that security work be carried out on the route to avoid this type of event.
Precisely, a few days ago Diario El Día consulted the recently assumed regional mayor, Pablo Herman, about the work to be carried out on this route with the aim of improving safety, who indicated that “On the one hand, they are the improvements of alternative roads, and on the other the road of the D201 that connects Pelícana with Altovalsol. On route D41, the improvements go to the Marquesa, Algarrobito and Las Rojas junctions. Also today the Peralillo crossing is being carried out in the Vicuña sector, and improvements will be made to signaling with warning bands ”.
He added that a dual road was not the best option at the moment.
“We do not want to take away the tourist image and that tranquility, nor do we want to pollute the skies with lights, nor do we want people to walk three kilometers to take the bus or use the catwalk. This stems from the experience of the D43 route, which although it is very necessary to connect Ovalle and La Serena, many problems were generated ”, indicated the regional authority.
