Punta Arenas continues as the commune with the most active cases in the country, according to the latest Epidemiological Report recently issued by the Ministry of Health.

Although the capital of Magallanes scores a slight drop (-5%, compared to the previous study), it remains at the top of the top 30, with 1,298 patients who can infect other people.

The area is still going through a delicate situation, which led experts to criticize the government’s “belated” management, since even the Minsal will recommend the use of masks inside the houses.

In second place appears Arica, a commune that also registered a slight decrease (-2%), but that still maintains 552 active cases.

From then on, except for Talcahuano, Las Condes, Rancagua and Viña del Mar, all the communes in the top 30 score increases.

Puerto Montt, for example, appears in third place behind Arica, with + 10%. They are followed by Talca (+ 12%) and Antofagasta (+ 10%) to complete the top 5.
