The IT group Oracle would eventually have been left in charge of the operations of Tik Tok in the United States, this after the Chinese company ByteDance reject the offer to buy Microsoft.

This was stated by The Wall Street Journal, which also asserted that it will soon be announced thatOracle was selected as the “trusted technology partner” of the popular app, although without classifying the operation as a “sale.”

Recall that this Sunday it was also revealed that Microsoft’s offer to buy the activities of the video application in the United States was rejected by ByteDance.

“ByteDance let us know today that it will not sell TikTok’s US operations to Microsoft. We are convinced that our proposal would have been good for TikTok users, while at the same time protecting the interests of national security, ”Microsoft said in a statement.

The US group had indicated in early August its interest in buying the US operations of TikTok, under threat of being officially banned in the country.

President Donald Trump, who has accused the popular social network of espionage for the benefit of China without proof for months, signed decrees to force ByteDance to quickly sell TikTok activities on US soil.

It should be noted that if a purchase-sale agreement was not reached before September 20, the platform was to close in the United States.

The application filed a lawsuit against the US government for this measure. “We would have made significant changes to ensure that the service met the highest standards of security, respect for privacy and the fight against misinformation,” Microsoft said.

At the end of August, the group of stores Walmart confirmed that it had partnered with Microsoft in negotiations to acquire the platform where short videos are shared, generally humorous or musical.

However, the alliance of the two American giants was not enough.
