The PDI confirmed this Thursday the arrest and discharge of three officers of the Eastern Robbery Investigation Brigade by theft of part of the money of the millionaire robbery that affected a branch of Banco Bice on July 10 in the commune of Las Condes.
“The facts that are imputed to them are related to a diligence aimed at clarifying a theft that affected a bank in the eastern sector of the capital, in July of this year, after the defendants would have appropriated part of the money recovered“reported the civil police.
The three officials are accused of the crimes of counterfeiting of instruments for public use and theft of money, which -according to preliminary information- amounts to 700,000 pesos.
The police institution also confirmed that, in parallel to the judicial investigation, started the untying process and the immediate suspension of the functions performed by those involved.
Through a statement, the PDI remarked that “It does not protect – at all – behaviors that are contrary to ethics, values and administrative probity that are inexcusable for all its staff, and insists on his more unrestricted commitment and adherence to the rule of law “.
The assault took place at Banco Bice, located at Apoquindo 4100, before the opening of the bank branch, when a subject entered through the door of the ATM and fled with a loot of 20 million pesos from inside the entity.
Upon entering, the antisocial threw spray paint at the security cameras and went to the vault of the place with the corresponding passwords. He wore a mask and surgical gloves
The offender took 1 minute 27 seconds in carrying out the crime and, after that, he fled in a vehicle.
The suspect in the robbery was arrested during the night of July 10 at his home in the Pudahuel commune, in the western sector of the capital.
