Threats to prosecutor Ximena Chong: preventive detention for five defendants is revoked

With total house arrest, five of those accused of the threats to the prosecutor Ximena Chong were left, after the courts revoked the preventive prisons issued on December 7 by the Santiago Court of Appeals on Tuesday.

Precisely the capital’s appeal court decreed the total house arrest of Gabriel Jara Vivanco and Fernando Hasler Martínez. Later, the 7th Guarantee Court of Santiago issued the same resolution for Paula Narváez Orrego, Benjamín Morelos and Osvaldo Urcola Díaz-Valdés.

Therefore, Pablo Martínez Castro, who had in his possession a UZI submachine gun, a prohibited weapon in the country, in addition to Daniel Goldberger Garcés and Solange Aravena Méndez, remain in preventive detention.

The eight defendants are investigated for delivering a letter with threats at the house of prosecutor Chong, in the framework of the investigation to the former rabbi Sebastián Zamora accused of the attempted murder of a teenager who fell to the bed of the Mapocho river from the Pío Nono bridge.
