Threats against prosecutor Chong: Court revokes liberty and decrees preventive detention for all the accused

The Sixth Chamber of the Court of Appeals unanimously determined to revoke the freedom for the other seven formalized by death threats to prosecutor Ximena Chong.

In this way, all were subject to the precautionary measure of preventive detention.

The North Central Prosecutor’s Office had filed an appeal after only one of the accused was placed in preventive detention.

Those involved in the cause are Gabriel Jara Vivanco, Daniel Goldberger Garcés, Solange Aravena Méndez, Paula Narváez Orrego, Osvaldo Urcola Díaz-Valdés, Benjamín Morelos, Fernando Hasler Martínez and Pablo Elías Martínez Castro, according to Radio Bío-Bío.

It should be remembered that the Government also filed a complaint against the accused who had been in preventive detention, since during the raid of the PDI a UZI submachine gun was seized, which is prohibited in Chile.
