The Mayor of the Metropolitan Region confirmed that the nearly five hundred people who today demonstrated for the Rejection in the commune of Las Condes did not have formal authorization to carry out their public demonstration.

Even so, half a thousand supporters of the Rejection, according to unofficial figures from the Carabineros, gathered at the front of the Civic Center of Las Condes to develop a new march towards the National Plebiscite of October 25.

However, the participants had not been authorized by the metropolitan authority to take a route that included reaching Manuel Montt and returning to the point of origin via Providencia avenue. Due to the impediment of the Carabineros, the group that carried Chilean canvases and flags kept shouting and singing in the vicinity of the El Golf Metro station.

In that place, the organizers of the convocation called on President Sebastián Piñera to postpone the holding of the Constitutional Plebiscite, due to “health risks” from the coronavirus pandemic.

In the same way, expressing their distancing from the Government, they unfolded a striking white canvas that said simply and categorically “Piñera traitor” (see photo).

During the day there were no incidents and at the end of the march the uniformed police reported the arrest of four people, one of them for carrying a knife.
