The chairman of the Republican Party, Jose Antonio Kast, He took back the reins of his Twitter account after 5 days hospitalized in a Santiago clinic for a post-covid-19 pneumonia picture.
On Tuesday, March 16, the Republican was diagnosed with the disease caused by the coronavirus and 8 days later (Wednesday of last week) he was admitted to a clinic after presenting respiratory problems.
Since then his wife, Maria Pía Adriasola, had been in charge of publishing on their social networks. However, this Monday afternoon, Kast shared a photo intubated along with a thoughtful message titled “Chile needs unity.”
Throughout the text, the former deputy details the conditions of his hospitalization and ensures that “Being one the affected produces a natural and human fear”, adding that he fully trusts in God and places himself “in his hands to do his will.”
“They have not been easy days for me, or for my family, but they do not compare with the suffering and complexities that most Chileans affected by this virus have to face,” the document reads.
Then he made a strong call to the Government to “make every effort to support the Chileans who suffer the most and who require health support, social solutions and economic contributions.”
However, he reiterates that “shutting down the country completely, only aggravates the consequences of anguish and helplessness for thousands of workers and entrepreneurs.”
Next, he asks Congress to carry out “a political quarantine, leaving the contingency that divides and that everyone be prepared to work for the benefit of Chileans (…) accelerating the legislative work with the approval of bills that will alleviate the lives of millions of Chileans ”.
