They arrest the mother of a 9-month-old baby who died after falling into an irrigation canal

Arrested was the mother of the 9-month-old baby, who was found dead yesterday, after falling and being dragged through an irrigation canal in San Pedro de Atacama.

According to the background, The mother stated that she did not realize when her son disappeared, and thus, she was arrested last night.

Staff of the OS-9 of the Carabineros went to the place where the infant was found, having information given to the Prosecutor’s Office, which issued the arrest warrant against the woman.

The possible responsibility of the child’s mother, who along with the minor’s family, notified the authorities when they lost track of the victim is unknown.
