The PDI detained the alleged perpetrator of the murder of a 43-year-old woman discovered yesterday afternoon in the commune of Porvenir, Magallanes Region. The victim suffered several stab wounds and his body was hidden in the courtyard of his house.
The suspect is Luis Ojeda Ojeda, 32, who was captured in the Santa María sector and accused of the murder of Brenda Cartez. The victim was the aunt of a former partner who was threatened by the defendant.
The head of the Homicide Brigade of the PDI of Punta Arenas, subprefect Héctor Marín, indicated that the crime was exposed after the concern expressed by the family, because the victim did not respond to the calls.

In the woman’s home, the sub-prefect added, “it was evident that she had been physically violated by the actions of third parties using a sharp weapon, presenting various injuries compatible with this type of element.”
“Regarding the alleged murderer, he had a romantic relationship with a niece of the victim, who is currently in custody and will be transferred to detention control today,” he added.
According to the first investigations, the former partner of the accused had suffered threats from the subject, for which the aunt traveled to Punta Arenas to protect her and then returned to her home in Porvenir. The suspect moved to this place to reprimand her and, after an argument, attacked her with a knife, killing her.
