Analysis information reveals that the Magallanes region has some of the highest numbers of people with the disease, data that coincide with what was reported during the week. The capital of said region, Punta Arenas, in fact, is the commune with the most active cases of COVID-19.
The active cases are defined in the report as those people with confirmed or probable COVID-19 whose symptoms began in a period equal to or less than 14 days as of the date of the report. Therefore, these are people who could spread the new coronavirus to others.
Punta Arenas leads the list of municipalities with the highest number of active cases with 1,308 infected people. Follow her Arica with 432, High Bridge with 407 Y Colonel with 391. In the graph above you can review the figures of the 20 communes with the most people in that state of the country.
