The Vatican will begin voluntary vaccination against Covid-19 in mid-January in which health personnel, security agents and personnel who work facing the public and the elderly will be prioritized.

Although the Vatican press office has not confirmed whether the pope, who turned 84 last December, will be vaccinated.

The vaccination campaign will last during the first three months of 2021 and will benefit both workers and all residents of the small Vatican State.

According to the statement published by the Directorate of Health and Hygiene of the Governorate of the State of Vatican City, the doses of Pfizer vaccines will arrive around the second week of January “in sufficient quantity to cover the needs” of the Holy See. .

The doses will be administered in the Paul VI classroom of the Vatican by qualified nursing personnel.
