The U celebrates a key triumph and Aránguiz’s goalscoring return

Pure oxygen. Vital, necessary. Victory was more than necessary for Universidad de Chile. To reinforce convictions, in a process that is starting with Dudamel at the head. More valuable still, if in the table that matters most to the blues, the weighted one, the team took a valuable leap to get away from any danger. That is why the celebration so effusive after the 1-3 on Audax Italiano, in Florida.

Closed, very locked, where every inch was fought with teeth and nails. This was the first half. Two teams canceling each other, with very little room for creativity. It was the bet of both benches, especially that of Dudamel, who in the U did not incorporate any player of a different imagination, in the absence of Walter Montillo due to injury.

What the Venezuelan did impose on the students was the strength and shocking style of a midfield, which although it did not shine, did not let the homeowners shine either. Because of playing to playing, in Audax there were players with better footing (Ledezma, for example), who did not weigh.

From that point of view, the task was completed in the student ranks. The one who suffered, however, was Joaquín Larrivey, the championship scorer, isolated, without advantage balls, destined for the fray. The offensive as the most action up to that minute was the debutant Lenis, who encouraged a particular duel with Crovetto, on the blue right wing.

On the left, meanwhile, Guerra once again confirmed his low level. In his defense, the youth is disarranged by the shore. Anyway, with the little offensive eagerness of both casts, the zero was totally justified.

But football has those changes that make it so attractive. A gust alters any scene. And that burst, in this past, ran in favor of the U. Because in three minutes (50 ′ and 53 ′), Dudamel’s pupils took an important advantage with the goals of Lenis and Moya. The ruling of the party? In theory yes, but Audax Italiano had something to say before the end.

A reaction was the minimum that was required of the local. That came from the hand of the newly admitted Álvarez (62 ′), who marked the discount. An open outcome, also remembering that in the first round Audax had recovered from a 2-0 against the chunchos. At that point, Aránguiz had already made his revival at the U, after two and a half months injured. Despite his lack of competition, Pablito showed part of his technical arsenal and with that he helped his team to vent.

The true relief, yes, came with the exquisite definition of Aránguiz himself, who took the bow and sealed the blue triumph. The first for Dudamel in Chile and a big push in the weighted table to avoid suffering from the threat of relegation. Perfect day for the U.
