Mexican actor Edgar Vivar, known for his characters “El Señor Barriga” and “Ñoño” in the series El “Chavo del 8” confessed that he suffered a severe depression once the recordings of the iconic children’s comedy program were finished.

“I confess that I did get depressed,” the actor acknowledged to the newspaper Los Angeles Times, adding that he learned from the press about the end of space, a moment that he remembered as one of the saddest of his career.

“I spoke to Roberto and he said ‘yes, it’s also time, we need vacations.’ I said ‘you’re right, we need vacations,'” said the 75-year-old actor.

Vivar acknowledged that it was difficult for him to overcome that stage of his career and that the most difficult thing was to reinvent himself after the success that El Chavo del 8 had meant in much of the continent.

“The biggest challenge has been to convince the producers that I could do different things, as the programs continued to be broadcast on television, I was competing with myself and I continue to do so,” he said.
