The Minister of Education, Raul Figueroa, reiterated that the return to face-to-face classes of educational establishments remains for next March 1, despite the worrying rise in coronavirus infections in the country.

“The 2021 school year will begin on March 1 and all educational establishments in the country have worked in a very specific way, and also in collaboration with all their communities to prepare for the 2021 school year“said Figueroa when asked if the date was kept.

This is due to the worrying increase in cases of Covid-19 that has been registered in recent days, with more than 4,000 infections a day and, previously, the figures were between 2,000 and 3,000 cases.

Given this, the Minister of Education indicated that “the fundamental thing today is, on the one hand, that let’s all continue to take care to have this pandemic under control“.

“From an educational point of view, that educational establishments and kindergartens take advantage of this moment to prepare with a view to next year, having presence as the general rule and, of course, working in close coordination with the Ministry of Health to generate the necessary sanitary protection measures “.
