The truth is that the internship at Renovación Nacional is on fire. There are those who prefer to extend the mandate of the current board until the end of 2021, and others to hold elections in December.
That is why and as reported by La Tercera, that the deputies around Diego Paulsen -who was available to compete to preside RN- have been in conversations with those close to the Senator Francisco Chahuán, who is another of the letters that has expressed his availability to lead the party.
This, with the aim of merging both lists and thus pressuring to prevent internal elections from running as requested by some, an issue that will be reviewed at the next general council of the party scheduled for this Saturday, September 26.
On the other hand, deputies Tomás Fuentes, Diego Schalper and Diego Paulsen have been in talks to avoid extending the mandate of the current table led by Rafael Prohens. To comply with this, the idea arose that, by merging the two lists, it is the ex-senator and former senator Carlos Larraín who presides over it.
The return of a heavyweight
Larraín is expected to travel to Santiago in the next few days, to convince other RN leaders.
In this way, the list would be headed by Carlos Larraín, and integrated by Balladares as the general secretary and Paulsen, Schalper and the mayor Raúl Torrealba as vice presidents.
Thus, the leaders They asked Chahuán to join that list as the first vice president. Consulted in this regard by the same medium, Chahuán told this medium that, although “I am ready for all sensitivities to be there,” he stressed that this must be with him at the head of the game.
