The television strip of the plebiscite, which started on Friday, September 25 and culminated this Thursday, October 22, registering an average rating of around 20 points at 12:45 pm and 40 points at 8:45 pm.

The president of the National Television Council (CNTV), Catalina Parot, pointed out that “we knew that the strip was going to be very seen due to the historical fact that this plebiscite implies for the country. that this strip incorporates for the first time the voice of civil organizations, has had a special interest of the citizens “.

“For the historical moment that we are living as a country, the citizens, that organized civil society, could not be left out of this range, even more so when it had been the protagonist of its previous moment. It was a great challenge for the council to achieve its incorporation” added.

Women with greater interest in the political fringe

Parot explained that those over 50 were those who most watched the television strip.

In the case of young people, the viewing was concentrated in the noon hours rather than at night.

Regarding the differences by sex, women watched the television program more than men and spent more time in front of the screen.

Fidelity, that is, the percentage of the strip that is viewed, remained above 70%, in both hours. This means that those who tuned in to the political fringe, in general, were left watching it almost in its entirety.

“We can verify once again the social role that television plays as a means of information to promote an informed debate on the different options for the plebiscite,” concluded the president of the CNTV.

On the political fringe, the Approval and Rejection had a total of 7 minutes and 30 seconds, which were divided between each of the commands and parties.
