The boss of Playstation, Jim Ryan, highlighted the results that Sony is achieving with the pre-sale of its new console, the Playstation 5.

“The demand as expressed by the level of pre-sales has been very, very considerable,” the executive explained to Reuters.

The executive not only highlighted that these results are being obtained in a scenario of economic recession and pandemic, but also explained that in the first 12 hours they managed to sell more than the Playstation 4 did in the first 12 weeks. Hence, in various parts of the world, pre-sales sold out quickly.

“Not everyone who wants to buy a PS5 on launch day may be able to find one,” Ryan remarked. He also added that they are “working hard” to ensure that supply meets demand for year-end sales.

Without revealing the figures, everything indicates that Sony hopes to host a better launch than the PS4 had, which provides good projections for the company considering its current device is one of the best-selling consoles of all time.
