This Monday negotiations began between the Public Sector Board (MSP) and the Ministry of Finance, that during these days they will be discussing the salary readjustment of fiscal employees.

For this year, public sector workers – grouped into 16 unions – asked for a Staggered nominal increase of 3 percent for those officials with a monthly income equal to or greater than 3 million pesos and of 4 percent for those who receive a figure less than that amount, detailed Andrea Palacios, leader of the National Association of Fiscal Employees (ANEF) and one of the spokespersons of the MSP.

The figure will be evaluated in negotiations, which must be closed before December, and finally it must be approved by the National Congress.

The president of the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), Barbara Figueroa, he assured that the staggered proposal “is absolutely reasonable.”

“We would hope that it would be picked up in this way by the authorities, as clear signals from state workers that, understanding the critical situation in Chile and not oblivious to the situation that workers are going through, it cannot mean that we always have to be the ones to lower our expectationsWhen we all know that the only possibility for Chile to stand up will be thanks to the workers of the public and private world, “said the union leader.

At the same time, public sector workers included in their petition a series of bonds, including a special benefit for workers who earn less than 758,000 pesos and work full days.

The monthly amount of the bonus will be equivalent to the amount that results from subtracting the value attached to the bonus from the maximum contribution.
