The Mandalorian season finale has a post-credits scene that reveals a new series

If you haven’t seen the end of the second season of The mandalorian, and taking into account the focus of what we will address here, the first thing to be clear about is that after all the credits there is a relevant scene that anticipates something no less.

The second thing to keep in mind is that inevitably next we will address the spoilers related to that sequence, since the announcement is related to a new spin-off that until now had not been announced by Lucasfilm and that, to protect the surprise, had been sidelined in the recent announcement to Disney shareholders.

So we go with the respective alert.

Once the credits curtain ends, the story takes us back to Tatooine, the planet where Anakin was born. But instead of connecting with something related to a Skywalker, or the new characters established by The mandalorian, the action takes us directly to the palace of Jabba the hutt.

In that place we meet again with the mafia hideout, which is now being commanded by an obese man Bib Fortuna who managed to survive the attack by Luke, Leia and Han that brought about the collapse of Jabba’s criminal empire. But their party ends once a Boba Fett with Fenne Shand breaks in. After dispatching the new leader, Boba Fett sits on the throne and the text appears that anticipates a new series:

“Boba Fett’s Book: Premiere December 2021“

The rumor of a series based on Boba Fett settled long ago, since after the film that was announced was canceled, the character ended up being rescued as part of the second season of The Mandalorian. But from his first appearance the idea that he would star in his own criminal story was reinforced.

The most relevant thing is that for now Lucasfilm has not addressed what will happen with the third season of The Mandalorian, since the series starring Pedro Pascal also premieres in December of each year.
