The historic scorer of the National Team scored just five goals in 45 games for the club, one of the most important in England, before leaving for Inter Milan.
Now that he was permanently transferred to the Italian club, he just approached his departure from Manchester. In a video that he published on his social networks, he assured that he never found himself comfortable inside the institution and that he felt unfairly targeted by the press and fans.
His speech generated repercussions and found several responses. One of the toughest came from former Brazilian defender Rafael, who played almost 200 games with the team between 2008 and 2015. “Maybe he saw a ghost and that’s why he got scared”, said the current Olympique de Lyon defender, in statements reproduced by the British newspaper Manchester Evening News. “That perhaps explains why he played so badly every time he wore the club’s jersey,” he said.
