Among the parade of names that have sounded in the Chilean team in recent weeks, now the one of Sebastian Beccacece, Argentine coach who was already a technical assistant at La Roja.
Next to Jorge Sampaoli achieved historic campaigns for Chile, ranking Brazil World Cup and even winning one America Cup for the first time for the country.
However, the departure of the coaching staff in January 2016 was full of controversy, with Sampaoli himself accusing the ANFP of having him as “hostage”.
Finally, they reached an agreement to leave La Roja, but in May 2019, the Casildense, Beccacece and Jorge Desio signed a lawsuit for 3,300 million pesos against the ANFP.
In one of the points they claim that the payment of their taxes “was not fully complied with by the ANFP, since only paid part of the taxes drawn, not reimbursing most of those taxes to date, paid directly by Messrs. Sampaoli, Beccacece and Desio, and that the ANFP had to reimburse them ”.
The lawsuit also accuses moral damages and indicates that the technical body was affected by the link with Sergio Jadue, former president of the ANFP, confessed to crimes of corruption: “The untimely and unfounded presentation of a complaint in which the coaching staff was linked to him, at that date, fled, discredited and unpopular Sergio Jadue Jadue, it generated national repercussions, seriously affecting the honor of Messrs. Sampaoli, Beccacece and Desio ”.
In October 2019 the ANFP responded to the demand through the lawyer Gonzalo Cisternas Sobarzo before the 1st Civil Court of Santiago. Regarding the demand for taxes, the document presented asks to order that it be appealed before the Labor Court with jurisdiction in the city of Santiago. Regarding moral damages, it is specified that the demand of the Sampaoli technical staff does not explain who specifically carried out the civil quasi-crime that inflicted damage.
The cause is not yet resolved and could be a stopping stone for Beccacece to land again in Chile. Anyway, this Tuesday the secretary of professional football of Defense and Justice, Diego Lemme ruled out hiring the former U coach, as he supposedly has a chance to lead La Roja.
“Today we see it very far from Seba. You always think about the people who passed through the club, but you have a chance to lead ChileWe see him as having already climbed a step, ”he said on Radio Colonia de Argentina.
