This Wednesday, and while the congressmen of U.S certified the presidential elections, a a mob of supporters of President Donald Trump broke through the perimeter of the Capitol and stormed the building.

The protesters had gathered minutes before in a protest in favor of the president, alleging fraud in the last elections that gave the winner to the Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

He certification process for 538 electoral votes works alphabetically, with legislators starting with Alabama. However the Congress had certified only two states, the nine votes of the Electoral College of Alabama and the three of Alaska, before the riots broke out.

Meanwhile, President Trump used his social networks to refer to the events recorded and asked the protesters to leave the place, although he insisted on accusing, without evidence, an electoral fraud: “We have an election that was stolen from us”.

For his part, the elected president, Joe Biden, condemned the taking of the Capitol and regretted what happened. “Our democracy is under unprecedented attack”he said in a televised message.

After the riots broke out, the Congress went into recess. However, they resumed the process during the night, once the Capitol was already clear and sheltered.
