The English ex-archer Peter shilton, famous for receiving Diego Armando Maradona’s two goals in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, including the mythical “Hand of God”, announced that this Friday an interview of him will come out talking about that match and received a strong repudiation on Twitter.
“Be at @GMB tomorrow morning talking about today’s Maradona news plus an interview with @DailyMailUK. Thank you for the thousands of messages I received this afternoon,” Shilton post.
However, in just minutes, his tweet went viral with hundreds of denials for taking advantage of Maradona’s death to sell a story in the media.
Shilton never forgave Maradona for the goal of “The Hand of God”, although he said nothing about the second, called the “Goal of the Century” by the pile of rivals, among which was the then goalkeeper. In fact, she did not invite him to her tribute party, calling it “dishonest.”
