The departure of César Pinares to Gremio de Porto Alegre is close. The midfielder has practically everything arranged to leave Universidad Católica and embark on his fourth international experience after defending Chievo Verona, Triestina (ITA), Olympiacos Volou (GRE) and Sharjah FC (UAE). What’s more, this Saturday afternoon he traveled to Brazil to finalize the signing.
The midfielder arrived at the Crusaders at the beginning of 2019 and quickly consolidated, being a figure in the title under the tutelage of Gustavo Quinteros and one of the fundamental pieces for Ariel Holan.
In the absence of last minute news, Pinares, 29, has agreed a three-season contract with the gaúchos, Those who scored a great goal in the 2020 Copa Libertadores. That double confrontation in the group stage would have motivated interest in the left-hander, who must be closed from now until Monday, when the Brazilian pass book closes.
Throughout history, Gremio has hired four other Chileans: Fernando Astengo, Alejandro Escalona, Jean Beausejour and Eduardo Vargas.
