A doubt began to haunt this Saturday on social networks, prior to the National Holidays holiday and the rules established by the authorities to avoid the increase in infections with Covid-19 of the “Fondéate en tu casa” plan. The common question was whether the inspectors can enter the houses or private places to audit how many people there are, and the answer to that question is that yes, they can enter since the Health Code allows it.
At Article 8, the document -which can be consulted online at the Library of Congress website- establishes that “for the fulfillment of the orders issued in accordance with the powers granted by this Code and its regulations, The Director General of Health may request the assistance of the public force directly from the nearest Chilean Police Corps Unit and they will be obliged to provide it.“.
Meanwhile, later, in the Article 155 (146) the doubt is clarified much more, since it specifies that “for the due application of this Code and its regulations, decrees and resolutions of the Director General of Health, The health authority may inspect and register any site, building, house, premises and workplaces, whether public or private.“.
This article further adds that “In the case of a building or closed places, the entry and registration must be carried out after a search decree from the Director General of Health, with the help of the public force if necessary ”.
The plan “Fondéate in your house” will allow people to meet In communes in transition stage onwards, obtain permission to visit family or friends for six hours, while those who are in quarantine can neither go out nor receive people in their homes. The permit can be taken out for one of the three days of the National Holidays holiday.
The authorities also insisted that transfer to second homes is prohibited, for which sanitary cords will be established in the main cities of the country, and the curfew at 9:00 p.m. between September 17 and 20.
