48 communes throughout Chile registered an increase in their active cases of coronavirus, according to the latest Epidemiological Report of the Ministry of Health, issued this Wednesday.
The list of the areas with the highest number of patients that can infect others was once again led by Punta Arenas, with 1,301.
Further back they were followed by Puente Alto (589), Concepción (483), Antofagasta (481) and Valparaíso (473).
They complete the top 10, Arica (468), Chillán (458), Viña del Mar (409), Rancagua (394) and Talca (360).
The capital
As noted, 48 communes presented an upward variation in their active cases compared to the previous report released three days ago.
Among them there are 24 communes in the Metropolitan region, where – despite the fact that it only went from 14 to 31 active cases – the most extensive upward variation was recorded by Pirque (121%).
Further behind are María Pinto (50%), Las Condes (25%), Conchalí (17%) and Cerro Navia (16%).
They are followed by Renca, San Miguel, Cerrillos and Padre Hurtado, all with a variation of + 15%.
The list is completed by Isla de Maipo (14%), Vitacura, Providencia and San Bernardo (13%), Colina (9%), La Cisterna (7%), Curacaví, Melipilla, and Lo Barnechea (6%), Peñaflor and Peñalolén (5%), Huechuraba (4%), La Reina (3%), Puente Alto and Recoleta (1%).
Bío Bío and Magallanes
Outside the capital, the list is led by Curanilahue, with a variation of + 37%.
The Bío Bío region commune – whose traceability manager had to resign for participating in a party in the midst of a pandemic – is followed by San clemente (36%), Lota (32%, Copiapó (30%), Talca (26%) , Temuco (23%) and Quilpué (22%).
Further behind are Curicó (19%), San Fernando (18%), Los Angeles (17%), Rancagua (15%), Punta arenas and Coronel (12%).
The list is completed by Coquimbo (9%), Iquique (6%), Hualpén, Alto Hospicio and Puerto Montt (5%), Chillán (4%), Antofagasta, San Pedro de la Paz, La serena, Viña del Mar and Ovalle ( two%).
