The Autonomous Community of Temucuicui, where yesterday a large amount of weapons and a truck that would have been used in an arson attack in Angol were found, rejected “categorically” the raid carried out by the PDI.
“We, as a Temucuicui community, want to categorically reject the situation, the raid that the police carried out yesterday in the community,” said the werkén Jorge Huenchullán.
In the opinion of the spokesperson, the operation was carried out “only to satisfy the coming of the minister (from the Interior, Víctor) Pérez to the area, to show operability, to show they are acting like police“.
This Saturday the High Complexity Prosecutor’s Office and the Organized Crime Investigation Brigade (Brico) of the PDI raided two houses in Temucuicui and the community of Nupangue, as part of the investigation into the arson attack against 13 trucks that were destroyed in the Forestal Cerda this Friday, in the commune of Angol.
In both houses there were firearms, bulletproof vests, cash and drugs, in addition to a truck that would have been used in the arson attack registered in Angol.
Also, this day a complaint was filed by the Municipality of La Araucanía, which invoked the Antiterrorist Law against those who are responsible for the burning of the 13 trucks.
Temucuicui also released a public statement that points out that the raid did not specify the homes where the weapons were found and no detainees were registered, despite the large number of items found. This, the writing indicates, “makes clear the montage that the State is used to making in his relationship with the Mapuche people. “
“For our Mapuche community, it is not the first time that the Chilean State police forces carry out judicial political assemblies against our members, such as the case known publicly as Casio Peaje Quino and Operation Huracán, both assemblies accused by anti-terrorist law of which all of our people ended up acquitted, “it reads in the statement.
