The city of Temuco fell 13 places in the Quality of Life Index, according to a study developed by the Chilean Chamber of Construction.

The measurement, which is 10 years old and is carried out in conjunction with the Pontifical Catholic University, measured 99 communes in the country with more than 50 thousand inhabitants, concluding that one in three cities has improved its quality of urban life.

In the case of La Araucanía, there were four communes under study and where Temuco fell 13 places since 2011, in the Quality of Life Index, although the commune remains at a medium-high level.

The president of the Chilean Chamber of Construction in Temuco, Claudia Lillo explained that the communes of La Araucanía have not met other criteria related to the identity of the area.

Temuco is joined by Padre las Casas, classified as Emerging Metropolitan Areas, while Villarrica and Angol, as “Intermediate Cities” that maintained their low level in the urban quality of life index.
