Carabineros de Andacollo – Coquimbo region – investigates an incident that occurred in the public high school of that commune where a student fired a compressed air gun at another young man and then fled.
According to the antecedents, the incident occurred at the Pedro Segundo Regalado Videla Órdenes public high school, where a 17-year-old student fired shots at another 16-year-old student, who managed to dodge some pellets, resulting only with minor injuries.
The victim received four hits, resulting in less serious injuries. He was referred to the Andacollo Hospital for care and later turned over to a responsible adult.
After the shots, the student carrying the weapon fled the educational establishment, being intensely looking for Carabineros.
Meanwhile, from the Pedro Segundo Regalado Videla Órdenes High School they issued a statement where its director, María Lorena Araya, explains the circumstances of the event.
“Responding to the commitment to keep you informed of everything, I regret to provide you with information that affected us today as an educational community, pointing out that situations outside our establishment due to external fights and quarrels for the crime that the commune has taken affect us as a high school,” he said. the director.
Along these lines, he noted: “I inform you that a very serious situation happened today, so we had to call the police. A fourth year student entered the high school with his school supplies with a compressed air gun and threatened a student with whom he had previously had problems outside the establishment.
“The staff reacted immediately and thank God and all the staff who are in both courtyards as contingency measures reacted quickly. The student involved started jumping over the bars, was followed by the security personnel, but could not be reached ”, he declared.
Similarly, he added that “the police were called immediately and notified OPD (Office for the Protection of Rights), who is in charge of this student. The establishment together with the legal department will proceed according to what is established in the regulations and coexistence manual. In the same way, I ask you to support us with the signing of the protocol to check the students’ backpacks ”.
