Democratic Revolution made official this Friday the first names of independents who will make up the party’s list to contest seats in the Constitutional Convention.

They are the labor lawyer and communicator Daniel Stingo, the president of the Private House Workers’ Union, Luz Vidal and the Mapuche community member Mauricio Lepin Aniñir.

Catalina Pérez, president of the DR, pointed out that “our conviction is that the same old people do not capture this process, and that those who write, together from the organized people, our new Constitution are independent, representatives of social organizations and new faces. We are very happy to be able to announce a first group of candidates so diverse and so close to the experiences of Chile that it awakened and demands transformations. We will continue to open doors ”.

Stingo, candidate for District 8 as an independent in the quota of the FA list, said he was “very grateful to have the opportunity to represent the residents of Maipú, Cerrillos, Pudahuel, Estación Central, Quilicura, Lampa, Colina and Til-Til ”.

It should be noted that, according to the latest Criteria poll, Stingo ranks as the first preference of the people to be conventional constituent.

Luz Vidal, meanwhile, stressed that she is “determined to represent precarious women workers in our country who have to be involved in the drafting of the new Constitution. I am happy to say that I will meet this challenge on behalf of domestic workers. “

From the Region of La Araucanía, Mauricio Lepin Aniñir, commented that the main motivation for his candidacy “is that a Constitution of citizens for citizens can be made. So that our ancestral peoples are respected as they deserve. So that our children and Mapuche women are not more violent (…) We do not want a Constitution written by the elite driven by corruption. We want justice for all Chileans. “
