Shooting Against Protesters Leaves Several Injured In Florida

Armed people traveling in a car opened fire on Monday night against a group of protesters in the commune of Florida, in the southeast sector of the city of Santiago.

The event occurred at the intersection of the avenues Trinidad and Vicuña Mackenna, Prior to the curfew that governs the entire country every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.

At the site, approximately 30 protesters were protesting against the Carabinero Day, that commemorated this Monday the 93rd anniversary of the institution.

According to eyewitness accounts, the attack occurred from a private vehicleleaving at least 10 people injured.

The victims were transferred to the Clinical Hospital Dra. Eloísa Díaz Insunza, health care sector, where they are kept stable and out of life risk.

Carabineros reported that their personnel are working at the scene of the shooting to gather further information.
