The death of teacher Paola De Simone, 47, has caused a stir in Argentina. The teacher who continued to work despite her complicated health due to the coronavirus fainted while teaching an online class for the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE). She later passed away.
Witnesses to the event that occurred on Wednesday of this week have related that De Simone, a graduate in Political Science, showed problems breathing while trying to continue with her chair.

After that came the decompensation in front of the screen. According to Argentine media, two students asked the teacher for the address so they could send an ambulance, but De Simone only answered “I can’t.”
The moment of the teacher’s swoon was viralized on social networks by one of the students present in the fatal class. However, after a generalized repudiation by the university community, the registry was taken down and the account canceled.

The Universidad Argentina de la Empresa issued an official statement on the death of Paola De Simone, however this letter does not give an account of the reasons that kept the professor fulfilling her academic tasks, despite her serious health due to the coronavirus.

We accompany her family in this difficult time by conveying our condolences on behalf of this academic community. We beg you to honor them with respect and gratitude for the memory of Paola “, declared the UADE through the aforementioned statement.

On August 28, Paola De Simone had reported through Twitter the difficult situation she was facing as a result of the covid-19. “It is very complicated. I have been more than 4 weeks old and the symptoms do not go away. A friend of ours is complicated. My husband is exhausted from working so much at this time (medical therapy and emergencies). More public arrives and damages more”, was what expressed by the teacher.
