An eruptive pulse in the Villarrica volcano recorded this Friday afternoon generated the alarm of the residents of the area.
As reported by the National Geology and Mining Service (Sernageomin), this occurred at 1:50 p.m. in the massif that remains on Yellow Alert.
The agency added that at that time, the monitoring stations installed in the vicinity of the volcano recorded a long period earthquake associated with a moderate explosion, at the level of the active crater.
This generated an emission of a column of approximately 600 meters above the point of emission (crater), whose dispersion was towards the east-northeast.
Preliminarily, a grayish column was observed with a contribution of particulate material and emission of blocks with ballistic projection around the crater.
The document adds that they were not registered significant changes in the seismic activity of the volcano.
