Sernac officiated at the Nestlé company after a series of viralized complaints on social networks, where the alleged presence of fungi and worms in the packages of Tritón cookies is accused.
In the document sent to the company, the National Consumer Service requests that “a detailed report on what happened with this product and the measures taken to prevent this situation from recurring in the future be provided.”
This alleged irregularity was reported by about 40 people at Sernac, where they detailed that the packages were defective and that the chocolate cream had white bubbles.
Meanwhile, another user accused that, in a vanilla flavor package, there was a worm.
The company denied the accusations and pointed out that the white bubbles on the surface of the cookie cream correspond to a phenomenon known as recrystallization of fat “.
They also declared, in a statement, that “this phenomenon is totally harmless and does not represent any type of risk to people’s health.”
“The causes can be varied, including changes in temperature that the product may undergo during storage and transport,” they added.
And regarding the presence of worms in one of the Tritón biscuit packages, they assured that “our production processes prevent the existence of living organisms in the finished product.”
That is why they believe that the appearance of larvae could occur when the product is stored, both in warehouses and in pantries.
Finally, Nestlé assured consumers that as a company they work with “the highest quality and safety standards in our manufacturing, which guarantees permanent safety in all our products.”
