The National Consumer Service (Sernac) presented this Friday class action lawsuits against the Falabella and Paris department stores due to problems in their online sales during the pandemic.

Sernac accuses that both retail stores registered Unilateral cancellations of products already paid for, change of dates in dispatches, delays in responding and also delays in reimbursing.

From March to November of this year, Falabella registered 66 thousand claims by customers, while Paris about 19 thousand.

In August, the service started a working group with the big retailers to try to compensate consumers. However, these companies did not meet the requirements of this collective voluntary procedure.

On the other hand, Sernac reported that in Ripley’s case, work continues with the company at a table to compensate affected customers.

According to the agency, this year complaints against online sales have increased by 440 percent.
